Saying goodbye after nine seasons
Earlier this month, we performed our final concerts after nine seasons of joyful music-making. With show-stopping performances by our soloists, Rachel Barton Pine and Jesse Irons, our L’Arte del Violino concerts attracted record-breaking audiences and made for a truly memorable final program. Thank you so much for helping to make this one of Baroque Band’s most successful offerings in our nine-year history. In her review of the performance, Barbara Keer of Chicago Splash Magazine wrote, “It was a grand tribute to this group that has been offering exquisite music to the Chicago area for the past decade.” We invite you to read the full article here.
We close our operations with nothing but gratitude in our hearts for the support, generosity and love that you have shown us over the years. We hope that you will continue to follow the activities of our musicians, whose talent and passion for early music will continue to enrich our city’s artistic community.
We’d like to extend a special thank you to our board of directors, for their exceptional leadership and commitment to the Band. Additionally, we thank our musicians for their dedication and hard work, and for bringing the magic of historically-informed performance to life in Chicago. And last but definitely not least, we thank you – our donors, audiences, volunteers and fans – for your wonderful support and friendship over the years.
With warmest wishes,
Garry Clarke and the staff of Baroque Band
